The Florida Legislature requires for every election that a voting system audit be conducted in every county after the election results have been certified to ensure that the system deployed in the election tabulated all votes properly.
The county canvassing board or other local canvassing board must conduct an audit of the voting system by randomly selecting a race and two percent of the precincts in which the selected race appears and tallying the votes cast. The audit must be completed and results publicized within seven days following the official certification of election results.
