ABSENTEE VOTING FOR MILITARY AND OVERSEAS VOTERS - Wherever uniformed service members, their eligible family members and overseas citizens go, the Federal Voting Assistance Program (FVAP) works to ensure their voices are heard. For information about absentee voting, see the FVAP Myths and Realities fact sheet or visit FVAP.gov.
HAVE YOU MOVED RECENTLY TO SARASOTA FROM ANOTHER FLORIDA COUNTY? If so, please call us at (941) 861-8619 to update your address before going to your polling place. This will help to ensure a smooth election day experience and avoid the need to vote a provisional ballot.
YOUR SIGNATURE IS IMPORTANT IN THE VOTING PROCESS. It is used to check petitions, absentee ballots and other important election-related documents that require valid voter signatures. Please make sure your current signature is on file with our office. Learn more
VOTING BY MAIL (ABSENTEE)? If you plan to vote by mail, remember that your voted ballot must be received by the supervisor of elections not later than 7 p.m. on Election Day. Absentee ballots may be returned in person to any of the three supervisor of elections offices (Sarasota, Venice, North Port) or by mail. If you plan to return your ballot by mail, please mail early to avoid postal service delays.
FORGOT TO SIGN YOUR ABSENTEE BALLOT? If you return your absentee ballot to the elections office without your signature, your ballot will not count unless you complete and return the Absentee Ballot Affidavit with an acceptable form of identification no later than 5 p.m. on the day before the election. Please follow the instructions on the form carefully, as failure to do so may cause your ballot not to count.
CONFIRM YOUR PRECINCT LOCATION BEFORE ELECTION DAY. Check your voter information card or go to Precinct Finder to view information about your voting precinct.
IMPORTANT: If you choose to contact this office by email or provide information in an interactive form on this site, such information, unless otherwise exempted by Florida law, is a public record and must be made available for public inspection upon request.
