Kevin M. Rouse
Kevin has been a resident of North Port for 18 years, residing here with his wife Jessica, and their 15 year old daughter.
Kevin was born in Sarasota, FL on October 16, 1976. Raised under strict moral principles of honesty, loyalty, and compassion. The three combined have molded him into an individual that exhibits a high level of selfless sacrifice and service to others. Kevin credits his parents, and his mentors from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota County as his main driving forces behind any past, present, and future accomplishments. Towards furthering his life’s purpose of serving others, he credits the United States Coast Guard, and the Fire Service for allowing him significant life experiences which have ultimately shaped him into the balanced leader he is today.
Kevin remains actively engaged on the local level, placing emphases on building and maintaining a fair and proper government, non-profit organizations, local athletics, and other charitable causes including initiatives towards new attainable housing opportunities.
In 2015, Kevin was named President of his department’s Firefighters for Kids program which provides gifts to less-fortunate children over the holiday season and throughout the year as their needs arise. Due to a life-long passion and involvement in sports, as well as a strong commitment towards the enrichment of our youth, Kevin pursued a coaching position at North Port High School in 2015. After two years coaching with Lady Bobcats Softball, he recently accepted a position to join the coaching staff of Bobcat Baseball.
As evidenced by his 17+ years of loyal service in Public Safety and a multitude of efforts throughout his personal life, Kevin continues to fulfill his life’s purpose towards public service. He considers forming and maintenance of respectful relationships as a key element to unlocking peaceful compromises within government and society as a whole. Like many, Kevin has seen his efforts rewarded by advancement, accolades, and compensation, but the best reward is seeing how his efforts positively impact the lives of those he serves.
Offering a vast array of life experiences, formal education and training, and a strong affinity for fair and equal representation, Kevin is well-suited to represent the citizens of North Port as an elected City Commissioner. His proficiency in operating under extremely chaotic situations, has cemented strong confidence and a steady sense of calm which will enhance his ability to serve the City of North Port and its residents.
