Vote-by-mail ballots due in elections office by 7 p.m. December 5

(SARASOTA, FL) Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections Ron Turner is reminding voters who vote by mail in the December 5 House District 72 Special (Democratic) Primary that voted ballots must be returned in time to reach the supervisor of elections office no later than 7 p.m. on election night.

Ballots may be returned by mail or in person to any one of the following three elections offices:

· Sarasota County Terrace Building, 2001 Adams Lane, Sarasota, 34237
· R.L. Anderson Administration Building, 4000 Tamiami Trail S., Venice 34293
· Biscayne Plaza, 13640 Tamiami Trail, North Port 34287

Turner also urges voters to read and follow the instructions included with vote-by-mail ballots to ensure their ballots are counted. Voters must complete and sign the ballot certificate envelope and the voter’s signature must match the signature on file in the voter registration database.

Voters may track their vote-by-mail ballots at from the time their requests are processed until the voted ballots are received by the elections office. Just click on the “Vote by Mail” icon on the home page, select “Track your Vote-by-Mail Ballot,” and follow the easy directions.

To be eligible to vote in the December 5 Primary a voter must be registered as a Democrat and live within the House District 72 boundaries.
