House District 72 Special (Democratic) Primary scheduled for Dec 5

(SARASOTA, FL) - Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections Ron Turner is reminding registered Democratic voters, who reside within the boundaries of House District 72, that the district’s Special Primary is scheduled for Tuesday, December 5.

(Note: Early voting for this election began Saturday, November 25 and will continue through Saturday, December 2, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. daily, at the elections office in the Sarasota County Terrace Building, the North Sarasota Library, and Westfield Sarasota Square Mall.)

Turner invites voters to visit or call (941) 861-8619 to find out where their polling places are before heading out to the polls on election day. Polling place information is also printed on the Voter Information Card that is issued to every voter.

Voters must present a current and valid photo and signature identification upon check-in at the polling place on election day. Voters who do not produce the required ID will be offered a provisional ballot. Valid IDs include a current Florida driver license, Florida ID card, U.S. passport, debit or credit card, military ID, student ID, retirement center ID, neighborhood association ID, public assistance ID, veteran health ID, a concealed carry permit or a government employee ID.

Turner also reminds voters who vote by mail that, to be counted, their marked ballots must be received in the elections office no later than 7 p.m. on election night. Vote-by-mail ballots may be returned by mail or in person to any elections office, and may not be left at a precinct on election day.
