Domestic vote-by-mail ballots on their way to Longboat Key and Holiday Park voters

SARASOTA, FL - Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections Ron Turner has begun mailing vote-by-mail ballots to domestic voters for the March 12 Town of Longboat Key general and Holiday Park Park & Recreation District elections.

Turner said a total of 817 ballots were mailed today, including 733 to voters in the Town of Longboat Key and 84 to voters in Holiday Park. The supervisor of elections office began sending vote-by-mail ballots for the March 12 elections to military and overseas civilian voters on January 25.

To request a vote-by-mail ballot, a voter may request online at SarasotaVotes.com/VotebyMail or call 941.861.8618. A request for a ballot to be mailed to a voter must be received by the elections office no later than 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6.

Voted ballots may be returned by mail or in person to the elections office but must be received by the supervisor of elections no later than 7 p.m. on election night to be counted. The correct postage to return a vote-by-mail ballot is one Forever stamp or $.55 postage.

Turner reminds voters who cast their ballots by mail that the certificate on the ballot return envelope must be signed by the voter and the signature should match the voter’s signature on file in the elections office. A voter may update his/her signature for the March 12 election by submitting a Florida Voter Registration Application to the elections office prior to 8:30 a.m. on Monday, March 4.
