Supervisor of elections to voters: Please vote early!

SARASOTA, FL - Supervisor of Elections Ron Turner is strongly urging Sarasota County voters to take advantage of the last day of early voting ahead of Tuesday’s March 17, 2020 presidential preference primary.

The final day of early voting is tomorrow, Saturday, March 14. The five locations listed below will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Turner said.

· Supervisor of Elections office: Terrace Building, 2001 Adams Lane, Sarasota
· Supervisor of Elections office: R.L. Anderson Administration Building, 4000 Tamiami Trail S, Venice
· Supervisor of Elections office: Biscayne Plaza, 13640 Tamiami Trail, North Port
· Sarasota Square Mall: 8201 S Tamiami Trail, Sarasota
· North Sarasota Library: 2801 Newtown Boulevard, Sarasota

Voters must present a photo and signature identification prior to voting. Voters who do not present the required ID can still vote a provisional ballot.

Elections offices stay open for pick-up ballots
Turner also emphasizes that, while the deadline has passed to request that a vote-by-mail ballot be mailed to a voter, voters may pick-up ballots in person now at any of the three elections offices upon presentation of photo and signature ID. A voter may also authorize a designee in writing to pick up a ballot on his or her behalf. Ballots may be picked up at any elections office today through 5:00 p.m. and on the following dates/times:

o Saturday, March 14, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
o Sunday, March 15, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
o Monday, March 16, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
o Tuesday (election day), March 17, beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Voted ballots must be received by the elections office by 7 p.m. election night to be counted.

The March 17 elections include the presidential preference primary, Town of Longboat Key bond referendum and the Holiday Park Park and Recreation District election.
