Supervisor of elections announces temporary office closures due to Coronavirus (COVID-19)
|SARASOTA, FL - Supervisor of Elections Ron Turner today announced that public access to his three offices in Sarasota, North Port and Venice has been suspended immediately and until further notice, in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
“In the interest of the health and wellbeing of the public and our employees, public access to our three offices has been closed until further notice,” Turner said. “In the meantime, we urge the public to take advantage of the online services that are available to them at www.SarasotaVotes.com
Available services online include new voter registration, as well as updates to address, signature or party affiliation, and vote-by-mail ballot requests.

In addition, secure drop boxes are available at both the Sarasota (Terrace Building, 2001 Adams Lane) and Venice (R.L. Anderson Administration Building, 4000 Tamiami Trail S) offices where the public can drop voter registration applications and vote-by-mail ballot requests, and candidates may drop off petitions or other election-related paperwork.
Public meetings of the Sarasota County Canvassing Board, are still scheduled to be held in the Terrace Building, 1st Fl, 2001 Adams Lane, Sarasota, as follows:
· Friday, March 27, 4:30 p.m. - Overseas ballot canvass and certification of the election
· Tuesday, March 31, 9 a.m. - Post-election certification audit of the voting system
