Reminder: Early voting for November 3 election ending Sunday, Nov 1

~ Early voting wait times down substantially - less than 30 minutes at most sites ~

SARASOTA, FL - Supervisor of Elections Ron Turner is reminding registered voters that early voting for the November 3 general election will end on Sunday, November 1. “I strongly encourage all voters, who have not yet cast a ballot, to take advantage of these last few days of early voting,” Turner said. “We are offering more early voting locations and days than ever before, and the wait times at all locations are down substantially from the opening days,” he added.

Early voting wait times are posted on the elections website ( ) homepage and have consistently reported less than 30-minute waits recently at most sites.

Turner noted that with more than 50% of all registered voters casting ballots already by mail or early, there are still approximately 170,000 voters to vote. “Because of high voter enthusiasm for this election, a lengthy ballot, and the need to implement social distancing and other health safety precautions at polling places on Election Day, we may have longer than normal lines at polling places on November 3.

“I ask all Sarasota County voters who have not yet cast their ballots: Please help us to minimize stress on the system, as well as on voters and poll workers, at polling places on Election Day by voting early whenever possible,” Turner urged.

Eligible voters may cast their ballots early between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. daily, now through Sunday, November 1 at the following locations:

· Elections Office, Terrace Building: 2001 Adams Lane, Sarasota 34237
· Elections Office, RL Anderson Building: 4000 Tamiami Trail S., Venice 34293
· Elections Office, Biscayne Plaza: 13640 Tamiami Trail, North Port 34287
· Sarasota Square Mall: 8201 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota 34238
· North Sarasota Library: 2801 Newtown Blvd., Sarasota 34234
· Fruitville Library: 100 Apex Road, Sarasota 34240
· Shannon Staub Library: 4675 Career Lane, North Port 34289
· Bee Ridge Park: 4430 S. Lockwood Ridge Road, Sarasota 34231
Florida Law requires voters to present photo and signature ID upon entering the polling place and prior to voting. A voter who appears at a polling place without photo and signature ID will be allowed to vote a provisional ballot.

Turner also reminds voters who choose to vote by mail in this election that they may drop their voted ballots into secure vote-by-mail ballot drop boxes, which have been placed inside all early voting locations. Ballots may also be returned at secure drive-thru, drop-off sites outside all three elections offices daily from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. now through Election Day, November 3.
