Reminder to City of North Port and Holiday Park voters: There is still time to request a vote-by-mail ballot for March 9 elections

SARASOTA, FL - Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections Ron Turner is reminding voters, who reside within the City of North Port and the Holiday Park Park and Recreation District, that there is still time to request a vote-by-mail ballot for the March 9 elections.

A voter may go to SarasotaVotes.com/VotebyMail to request a ballot and to track the ballot from the time the request is processed until the voted ballot is received in the elections office. Voters should allow at least 72 hours from the time they request a ballot for the tracking program to update. The deadline to request a ballot by mail is 5 p.m., Saturday, February 27.

Turner urges voters to read and follow the instructions included with vote-by-mail ballots to ensure their ballots are counted. Voters should complete and sign the certificate on the ballot return envelope and the voter’s signature should match the signature on record.

Ballots may be returned by mail or in person but should be returned promptly to avoid postal delays. Voted ballots must be received in the elections office no later 7 p.m. election night to be counted. A Forever stamp or $.55 postage is required to return a ballot by mail.

Ballots may be returned in person to a secure drop box inside the North Port elections office during normal business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.) now through Monday, March 8, and until 7 p.m. on election night, Tuesday, March 9.

Voters may also take advantage of no-contact, vote-by-mail drive-thru, drop-off service, which will be operational at the North Port elections office location as follows:

· Monday, March 1 - Saturday, March 6 and Monday, March 8, 8:30 a.m. - 4 30 p.m. daily
· Tuesday, March 9 (election day), 8:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.

Voters should follow the directional signs at the North Port location in Biscayne Plaza, 13640 Tamiami Trail, to the drop-off point.
