Reminder: Deadline to request vote-by-mail ballot for March 9 elections is approaching
|SARASOTA, FL - Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections Ron Turner is reminding North Port and Holiday Park voters, who would like to vote by mail in their respective March 9 elections, that 5 p.m., Saturday, February 27 is the deadline to request a ballot be mailed to them.
Turner said voters who reside in the City of North Port and the Holiday Park Park and Recreation District may go to SarasotaVotes.com/VotebyMail
Voted ballots may be returned by mail or in person but must be received by the elections office by 7 p.m. on election night. The cost to return a ballot by mail is one Forever stamp or $.55 postage. Ballots may be returned in person to a secure drop box inside the elections office in Biscayne Plaza, 13640 Tamiami Trail, during normal business hours (M-F, 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.) and on election day, March 9 until 7 p.m.
Ballots may also be returned at the drive-thru, drop-off point at the Biscayne Plaza location on the following dates/times:
· Monday, March 1 - Saturday, March 6 and Monday, March 8, 8:30 a.m. - 4 30 p.m. daily
· Tuesday, March 9 (election day), 8:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Voters should follow the directional signs in the Biscayne Plaza parking lot to the drop-off point.
Turner also urges voters to read and follow the instructions included with vote-by-mail ballots to ensure their ballots are counted. Voters should complete and sign the ballot certificate envelope and the voter’s signature should match the signature on record.
