PUBLIC MEETING SCHEDULE

OF THE SARASOTA COUNTY CANVASSING BOARD

FOR THE NOVEMBER 3, 2020

GENERAL ELECTION

 

The Sarasota County Canvassing Board for the November 3, 2020 General Election is scheduled to meet as follows:

 

Friday, October 9, 9:00 a.m. -- Logic and accuracy testing of a random sample of the voting equipment.

Monday, October 12, 8:30 a.m. – Initial vote-by-mail ballot canvass.

Thursday, October 15, 9:00 a.m. – Canvass of vote-by-mail ballots continues.

Friday, October 23, 9:00 a.m.  – Canvass of vote-by-mail ballots continues.

Thursday, October 29, 9:00 a.m. – Canvass of vote-by-mail ballots continues.

Monday, November 2, 9:00 a.m. – Canvass of vote-by-mail ballots continues.

Tuesday, November 3, 3:00 p.m. – Election Day canvass of vote-by-mail ballots.

Thursday, November 5, 6:00 p.m. – Provisional ballot canvass and unofficial results.

Friday, November 13, 4:00 p.m. – Canvass of overseas ballots and certification of official results.

Wednesday, November 18, 9:00 a.m. – Manual post-election certification audit.

 

Following the initial vote-by-mail canvass, ballot opening and processing will continue daily (weekdays) as needed until completed, beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, October 12. However, no results will be released until after the polls close on November 3.  

 

Pursuant to 101.6104, if any elector believes that a vote-by-mail ballot is illegal due to a defect on the voter’s certificate, the elector may, at any time before the ballot is removed from the envelope file with the canvassing board a protest against the canvass of such ballot. Unopened ballots are available for inspection 8a.m.-9a.m. daily, inclusive of weekends as needed.

 

All meetings will take place at the Office of the Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections, 2001 Adams Lane, Sarasota, Florida, and, in accordance with the Sunshine Law of Florida, are open to the public.

 

In the event the canvassing board needs additional time to canvass and there is not time to advertise any change in the above schedule, pursuant to §102.141(2), Florida Statutes, notice of change will be posted at SarasotaVotes.com.
