Supervisor of elections recruiting poll workers for coming elections

~ Invites registered voters to attend an orientation session ~

SARASOTA, FL - The Sarasota County elections office is inviting registered voters in the county to become part of its election day team, Supervisor of Elections Ron Turner announced today.

Turner said that in preparation for the August 28 Primary and November 6 General Election, his office is now recruiting new poll workers for the coming elections and beyond, and has scheduled the following countywide orientation sessions for anyone who would like to explore the opportunity:

Wednesday, May 2, 2 p.m.

“If you are registered to vote in Sarasota County and would like to serve your community while helping to maintain the integrity of the electoral process, we are looking for you,” Turner said. “No appointment is necessary; just show up at any one of the scheduled sessions listed above to learn more about this exciting opportunity,” he added. To complete the hiring process, an applicant will need his or her Social Security card and a valid Florida Driver License.

Poll workers must be registered Sarasota County voters and can earn from $150 to $260 per election, depending on the position assigned, for training and working.
